Well my friends, August is a rather slow month for scholarships. With all of you getting ready to head back to school, the number of scholarship opportunities is low.  I am sure this is actually a good thing as most of you will be rather busy moving and readjusting to life on campus. Nevertheless, I have scoured through my resources and found a hand full of August Scholarships for you to apply for.

Here are your first two August scholarships.

Scholarship Detective Launch Scholarship

Application Deadline:

August 31, 2016

Award Amount:

Two awards of $1,000 each.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be high school, college or graduate students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

To Apply:

Visit the Scholarship Detective website and complete the online application. Include a 140 character or less statement on how you plan to use the scholarship money.

Compare Cards Scholarship

Application Deadline:

Award Amount:

$2,500

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university, or be planning to attend college within one calendar year.

To Apply:

Visit the Compare Cards website and complete the online application. You must answer a tricky trivia question provided on the application.

Upon winning the scholarship, proof of enrollment must be provided. If you are selected, you must agree to submit a picture of yourself holding your scholarship award check, with a brief statement about how the award will help you manage your college expenses.
